Honda to close its plant in the Philippines, will continue sales operations
In an effort to optimise production operations in the Asia-Oceania region, Honda has decided to close the manufacturing operations of Honda Cars Philippines.
Honda Cars Philippines, the local arm of Honda Motor Co which produces passenger cars – BR-V and City – has announced that it will stop production operations in its plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, effective March 2020.
Set up in 1990, the plant had begun production in 1992 and currently has 650 staff. Now in an effort to optimise production operations in the Asia and Oceania region, Honda has decided to close the manufacturing operations of Honda Cars Philippines.
Honda Cars Philippines, however, will continue its automobile sales and aftersales service operation in the Philippines, through the utilisation of Honda’s Asia and Oceania regional network.
Effective March 2020, Honda Cars Philippines, which manufactures the BR-V and City, is to stop production operations in its plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
